Offset per copy

  • Position: three boxes for X, Y and Z, in pixels. Z is used on 3D layers only
  • Rotation: degrees added to each copy
  • Scale: percent points added to each copy. -10 makes each copy 10 % smaller
  • Opacity: points added to each copy. -15 fades each copy a little more. Opacity stays between 0 and 100
  • Time: each copy starts this many frames after the one before it. Its keyframes move with it
  • Reset: sets every offset back to 0

Parenting and order

  • No Parenting: no parent-child connection is made between the original and the copies
  • Parent to Original: every copy becomes a child of the original layer
  • Parent in Chain: each copy becomes a child of the copy before it, and the first copy a child of the original
  • Copies Below the Original: the copies are placed under the original in the layer stack
  • Copies Above the Original: the copies are placed over the original in the layer stack

Buttons

  • Total Number of Copies: how many copies each selected layer gets, from 1 to 1000
  • Duplicate: makes the copies and leaves them selected
  • Undo: takes back the last duplication

How to use

  1. Select the layers you want to copy
  2. Run the tool
  3. Type the offsets each copy should get in Offset per copy. Leave a box at 0 to keep that property as it is
  4. Choose the parenting, and whether the copies go below or above the original
  5. Set Total Number of Copies and click Duplicate
  6. If it doesn't look right, click Undo, change the values and try again

Note

💡 Each copy is made from the one before it, so the offsets add up: with Position X at 100, the third copy sits 300 pixels from the original. On an animated property the offset is added to every keyframe. The result shows at the bottom of the window
