Options:

[side-left]

  • Enable: Turns the bounce effect on or off
  • Max Bounce: Sets the maximum bounce height
  • Gravity Presets: Pre-configured gravity strengths, from 'Lighter' to 'Heavier'. 'Custom' lets you set your own
  • Custom Preset
    • Elasticity: Controls bounciness
    • Gravity: Sets the gravity value
  • Squash & Stretch
    • On/Off: Enables squash and stretch during the bounce for a more dynamic look
    • Squash Type: 'Circle' works best for round objects, 'Square' for square ones. 'Square' doesn't work with shape layers
    • Squash Value: Sets the squash amount
    • Stretch Type: 'Scale' resizes the layer, 'Echo' uses After Effects' echo effect
    • Stretch Value: Sets the stretch amount
  • Auto Rotate
    • On/Off: Turns rotation on or off
    • Reverse: Reverses rotation direction
    • Keep Rolling:  Keeps the object rolling after the bounce

How to use

  1. Decide whether to use separate dimensions. This allows you to control the X and Y positions independently. This function works with both separated and non-separated dimensions
  2. Create two keyframes for the position and ensure a short distance between them
  3. Select the layer and run the tool. A small window will pop up prompting you to select your preferred options
  4. Choose a Gravity preset, enable the Squash & Stretch feature, and activate the Auto Rotate options. These settings can be adjusted later
  5. After clicking the apply button, a setup will be created for further adjustments

Notes

💡 It works best with short distances of 5 to 7 frames between keys
💡 For accurate calculations use linear keyframes for Y position
