Options

  • Row: specifies the number of rows in the grid system
  • Column: specifies the number of columns in the grid system
  • Gutter X: determines the horizontal spacing between columns
  • Gutter Y: determines the vertical spacing between rows
  • Margin: allows you to set the space around the outside of the grid system, with a box for each side: T, L, R and B. Click the lock icon in the middle to link the four sides, so they all follow the T value, or to unlink them
  • Create Guides: Creates the guides. The window stays open, so you can change the values and create again: the new grid replaces the one the tool made before, and guides you added yourself are kept
  • Clear Existing Guides: Removes every guide in the composition right away

How to use

  1. Open a composition
  2. Run the tool
  3. Choose the options you want
  4. Click on the "Create Guides" button. The result shows at the bottom of the window
  5. Close the window when you are done

💡 When you use the tool, it creates a layer that lets you see a preview of how the guides will look. This layer is removed when you create the guides or close the window
