Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: 3 September 2026

These terms cover buying and using Motion Ape products. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and why. Read the Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Motion Ape Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 10238383, with its registered office at Unit 3b Berol House, 25 Ashley Road, London, England, N17 9LJ.

These terms apply to motionape.com and to our products, including the MoBar and MoPack extensions. By buying or using our products you agree to them. Please read them before you buy.

2. Definitions

3. Where You Bought Your Product Matters

Our Products are sold through more than one channel, and not all of these terms apply in the same way to each.

3.1 Bought from our Website. Purchases made through motionape.com are sold by a merchant of record acting on our behalf: Lemon Squeezy for MoBar, and Gumroad for our other Products. This means the purchase transaction is between you and that merchant of record, who is responsible for payment processing, invoicing and any applicable sales tax or VAT, under their own buyer terms. These terms govern the Licence and your use of the Product.

3.2 Bought from Envato Market or VideoHive. MoPack is also sold on VideoHive. If you bought there, your purchase contract is with Envato, and Envato's terms govern the transaction, including payment, invoicing and refunds. Your licence is the Envato licence you bought, and where it conflicts with these terms in relation to your purchase, the Envato licence takes precedence.

3.3 Bought from aescripts + aeplugins. Our Products are no longer sold there. Licences bought through aescripts remain valid, and aescripts' terms govern that transaction.

3.4 Support. Whichever channel you bought through, you can contact us for help with the Product itself.

4. Orders and Payment

4.1 Placing an order. Orders can be placed through our Website. You will receive a confirmation email once your order is complete.

4.2 Payment. Payment must be completed before a Product is delivered. Accepted payment methods are shown at checkout.

4.3 Accepting orders. We may decline or cancel an order, including where a Product is unavailable or where a price or description was shown in error. If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we will refund it in full.

4.4 Prices. Prices are shown at checkout and include or exclude tax as indicated there. We may change prices at any time, but a change will not affect an order you have already placed.

5. Delivery and Access

5.1 Delivery. Products are delivered digitally. Once payment is confirmed, the Product is made available for download and you will receive an email with access instructions.

5.2 Problems with access. If you cannot access a Product you have paid for, contact us and we will help.

5.3 What you need. Our Products require compatible versions of Adobe After Effects or Adobe Premiere Pro. Current requirements are stated on each product page and in our documentation. We are not responsible for a Product failing to work on software or hardware that does not meet them.

6. Licence

6.1 What you get. When you buy a Product, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it in line with these terms. We do not sell you the Product itself, and we keep ownership of it.

6.2 One person, two computers. A Licence is for one named user. You may have a Licence active on up to two computers at any time. To use it on a third, sign out on one of the others first. Licences may not be shared between people, and licence keys may not be given, sold or lent to anyone else.

6.3 What you may do. You may use Products to create finished work, including animations, videos and graphics, for yourself, for your employer or for clients. Finished work may be used commercially, including in advertising, broadcast and film, with no additional fee and no obligation to credit us.

6.4 What you may not do. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, redistribute or otherwise pass on a Product, or make its original files, source files, assets, templates, presets, scripts or sound effects available as standalone files, whether on their own or as part of a collection, template, stock library or competing product. You may not remove or alter any notices in a Product, or attempt to circumvent its licensing.

6.5 Sharing with collaborators. If you supply a finished project file to a client or collaborator, the Product assets used in that project may be included with it, so the project can be opened, edited and rendered. The recipient does not need the Product installed to work with that project. They do need their own Licence if they want to use the Product itself.

7. Plans, Subscriptions and the Free Trial

7.1 Free trial. MoBar can be downloaded and used free of charge, subject to the limits described on our Website and in our documentation. The trial exists so you can decide whether the Product suits you before paying for it.

7.2 Plans. MoBar is available on a Monthly plan, a Yearly plan, or as a Lifetime licence. The Monthly and Yearly plans are subscriptions and renew automatically. The Lifetime licence is a single payment. What each plan includes is shown on our pricing page.

7.3 Subscriptions. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund part-used periods.

7.4 When a subscription ends. When a subscription ends, your Licence ends and the Product stops working. Work you created while the subscription was active remains yours and is unaffected.

7.5 Lifetime licences. A lifetime licence does not expire and includes updates as described on our pricing page. It is a licence to use the Product, not a promise that the Product will be supported or updated indefinitely.

7.6 Price changes. We may change the price of a plan at any time for new purchases. If you already have a subscription, your rate stays the same for as long as that subscription runs without interruption. If you cancel and subscribe again later, the price current at that time applies.

8. Refunds and Cancellation

8.1 MoBar. MoBar can be downloaded and used free of charge before you buy, so you can be sure it works for you first. For that reason we do not offer refunds on MoBar purchases.

8.2 MoPack bought from our Website. MoPack has no free trial, so we offer a refund within fourteen days of purchase if it is not right for you. Contact us within fourteen days of your order and we will arrange it, and your Licence ends when the refund is made. This applies to purchases made through motionape.com only.

8.3 Bought from a Marketplace. Refunds for Products bought through Envato, VideoHive or aescripts are handled by that Marketplace under its own policy. We cannot issue refunds for those purchases.

8.4 Your cancellation rights as a consumer. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you normally have fourteen days to cancel a purchase of digital content, and that right can end once download begins where you have agreed to immediate access at checkout. Whether it does depends on the buyer terms of the merchant of record for your purchase, which you agree to at that point. Where the right applies, the fourteen-day refund described in 8.2 gives effect to it, and nothing in 8.1 or 8.2 removes it.

8.5 If something is wrong with the Product. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights under section 13 if a Product is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose.

8.6 How refunds are paid. Where a refund is due, it is made to the original payment method. It may take up to fifteen days to appear, depending on your payment provider.

9. Updates and Support

9.1 Updates. We release updates from time to time. What a Product includes at the time you buy it is what you are buying. We do not promise any particular future feature, update or release date.

9.2 Support. We provide support through our contact page and our documentation. We aim to reply within one working day, though this is a goal rather than a guarantee.

9.3 Ending a Product. We may stop selling, updating or supporting a Product. If we do, existing licences continue to work as described in section 7, and we will give reasonable notice where we can.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

If you breach this section we may suspend or terminate your Licence under section 12.

11. Availability, Errors and Inaccuracies

11.1 Availability. We aim to keep Products and our Website available as described, but availability may vary and we are not liable for interruptions outside our reasonable control.

11.2 Errors. Descriptions, prices and availability may occasionally contain errors. We may correct them and update information at any time.

12. Termination

12.1 By us. We may suspend or terminate your Licence if you materially breach these terms, in particular section 10, or if you use a Product fraudulently or unlawfully. Where the breach can be put right, we will normally tell you and give you a chance to do so first.

12.2 By you. You may stop using a Product at any time. To end a subscription, cancel it as described in section 7.

12.3 Effect. When a Licence ends, your right to use the Product ends and you should uninstall it. Finished work you have already created is unaffected. Sections 6.4, 13, 14, 15, 18 and 20 survive termination.

13. Your Statutory Rights

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms do not affect. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content supplied to consumers in the UK must be of satisfactory quality, fit for its purpose, and as described. If it is not, you may be entitled to a repair, a replacement or a refund.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits those rights, and where anything in these terms conflicts with them, your statutory rights prevail. For more information, contact Citizens Advice or your local trading standards office.

14. Disclaimer

Beyond the rights described in section 13, and to the extent the law allows, Products are supplied as described rather than with any further warranty. We do not promise that a Product will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every setup, or that it will meet a particular requirement you have not told us about.

15. Limitation of Liability

15.1 What we are not liable for. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business, contracts, goodwill, data or anticipated savings, arising from your use of a Product.

15.2 Cap. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim arising from a Product is limited to the amount you paid for it.

15.3 What we never exclude. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded, including the statutory rights described in section 13.

16. External Links

Our Website and documentation link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for their content, practices or policies, and visiting them is at your own risk.

17. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it and what rights you have over it, including the information the MoBar and MoPack extensions send when you sign in.

18. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, or in the European Economic Area, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, or of your right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. Changes are posted on this page with a revised date at the top. Where a change is significant and affects an active licence or subscription, we will tell affected customers by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use a Product after a change means you accept the updated terms.

20. Miscellaneous

20.1 Severability. If any provision of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remain in force.

20.2 Entire agreement. These terms, together with any Marketplace terms that apply to your purchase, are the whole agreement between you and Motion Ape about our Products, and replace any earlier agreement or understanding.

20.3 Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another business. You may not transfer yours without our written consent.

20.4 No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that does not mean we give up the right to enforce it later.
